The same goes if you're choosing Christmas costumes for a mall appearance around Halloween in Hawaii or Los Angeles. For heavier fabrics, drink lots of water, wear a cooling pack to pad your belly, and keep a fan handy. If on the other hand you're appearing in colder climates, velvet and plush will give you that toasty warm appearance and feeling, especially since your costume will be trimmed with fur.
